History
The West Course was designed by A.W. Tillinghast and opened in 1923. The course is managed by Colin A. Burns as the General Manager. An ordinary piece of land has been transformed into a wonderful golf course.
Course Information
The greens are protected by very large bunkers and there are no water hazards either. There are many trees on the course. The 6th and 11th holes are short holes. The West course is a tough course but is one among the best.
Tournaments at Winged Foot Golf Club (West Course)
The course has hosted the US Open Championship in 1929, 1959 and 1984, PGA Championship in 1997 and US Amateur in 2004.
